MEET YOUR COACH: Michael Hollinger, CPT-NASM

Having a competed in marathon running, swimming, and powerlifting, I am passionate about simultaneously developing high levels of strength, power, and endurance. Many times, people consider these goals to be mutually exclusive, but for athletes and professionals that need to perform across a wide range of tasks, it is crucial to adopt a training regimen that incorporates all these elements. How do we do that? This is where hybrid training excels!

HYBRID TRAINING

Hybrid training is less of a specific program than it is a philosophy. Many times, endurance is needed to get an athlete to where strength and power are required. Once the task is completed, the individual must have enough grit and stamina to make the return. We do not rise to the occasion but sink to the lowest level of our training. As hybrid athletes, we know this, and we train accordingly. By carefully managing training variables, athletes can make sustained progress in strength, power, and endurance while maintaining optimal levels of health.
